Custom single-family residence on a standard residential lot in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. The plan is split front-to-back with an open glass atrium which houses the architectural staircase. The stair atrium was utilized to divide the living room from the kitchen & family room on the main floor, the media/recreation area from the live-in nanny suite on the lower level and the master suite and children bedrooms on the upper floor. The stair atrium extends to a lower roof area in the center to create a secluded outdoor room utilized as a spa area.
