Custom single-family residence on a standard residential lot in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. The main living spaces located on the first floor are open front-to-back, bookend with floor-to-ceiling & wall-to-wall glass curtain walls. The second floor master suite, nursery and study are cantilevered beyond the front & rear facades and appear to hand above the open first floor as the window walls are carried up to the third floor. This effect is further enhanced as the second floor elements are wrapped in fir siding that is carried inside along the underside of the second floor.
